Victoria Justice has announced that she will be releasing her first solo album this year. The first single "Gold" will be released on June 18, 2013.

History and Development[]

The songs for the album began writing process in 2010. In March 2011, Justice spoke with Paradise Magazine about the album, stating that "there are so many different types of songs and I write about anything and everything. I’m just flushing out as many ideas as possible." [2]

In October 2011, Victoria told a magazine: "I think my solo music will be different from what people hear from Victorious. When I do my own music, it will be a little more mature and finding my own path."

On October 2012, Justice revealed that the album will be released in 2013. [3]

On March 2013, Victoria told Famous: "I'm going to start writing my solo album, so I'll definitely be focusing on that. Songwriting is something that I'm very passionate about and I can't wait to express myself as an artist and for people to get to know me differently than just a girl who sings music in Victorious. I'm looking forward to break away from that and doing my own thing."

On June 7, 2013 Victoria tells Billboard that she’s ready for her first solo album. “It definitely falls under the category of pop, but it’s my own vibe,” she explains. “I’m very excited for everyone to hear my own sound and who I am as an artist. I’ve been cultivating it for a while now, and I think it’s definitely come time for me to reintroduce myself to people. It’s 100 percent my personality, messages I want to get across. Some of the songs are really fun, upbeat stuff you can dance to, and then I have some songs that are a little more introspective, a little more mellow. It’s just all me, basically, so it’s very cool."

I'm definitely going to be writing all of it." - Victoria on the album.
